The long term opportunity in humanoid robotics has never depended on a single funding round or product launch. It has been built through consistent technical progress and growing commercial investment.

July was one of the busiest months the industry has seen. Humanoid robotics and Physical AI companies announced billions of dollars in new investment, setting a new record for capital raised across the sector.

While the funding dominated headlines, the companies themselves continued to execute. Developers introduced new hardware, expanded commercial partnerships, advanced foundation models and prepared the next generation of humanoid platforms for production.

1. Humanoid Robotics Investment Reaches a New High

Investment across the humanoid robotics sector continued accelerating throughout July.

Startups have now raised more than $8.6 billion during 2026, already surpassing the total capital invested across the entire industry during 2025 by approximately 1.8 times.

The pace of capital formation illustrates how quickly investor conviction has changed. Only five years ago, annual investment across the category measured tens of millions of dollars. Today, individual funding rounds regularly exceed those historic totals.

2. Europe Produces Its First Pure Play Humanoid Unicorn

Humanoid announced a $152 million Series A at a $1.35 billion valuation, bringing total funding to $270 million. The round is the largest Series A completed by a humanoid first robotics company in Europe.

The financing follows a series of commercial milestones. Earlier this year, the company signed a deployment agreement with Schaeffler covering a four digit fleet of robots across its manufacturing network by 2032. The partnership also makes Schaeffler the preferred supplier of actuators for Humanoid’s wheeled platforms.

The new capital will fund the next generation of the company’s robot platform, expand commercial deployments, and support the start of volume manufacturing.

3. Walden Robotics Emerges From Stealth

Walden Robotics emerged from stealth with a $300 million funding round co led by Toyota and Deviation Capital. The round included participation from NVIDIA, Boeing Ventures, Samsung and several strategic investors.

The company was founded by former Toyota Research Institute researchers and is developing humanoid robots for industrial applications. Walden says its robots have already been deployed inside Toyota manufacturing facilities, progressing from pilot testing to production work in less than two months.

The funding will support expansion of commercial deployments, continued development of its humanoid platform, and growth of its engineering team.

4. ATOMS Raises $1.7 Billion

ATOMS announced a $1.7 billion investment led by Andreessen Horowitz.

Founded by Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick, ATOMS brings together robotics, AI and industrial automation under a single company. Earlier this year, it acquired autonomous vehicle company Pronto as part of a broader strategy to automate large physical industries including mining, transportation and manufacturing.

The investment reunites Kalanick with Uber as a shareholder nearly a decade after his departure. In announcing the round, Kalanick described ATOMS as the next step in the “bits to atoms” vision that began during Uber’s early years.

5. Figure Celebrates Four Years

Figure marked four years since its founding.

In that time, the company has developed three humanoid generations, launched its Helix Vision Language Action model, signed commercial agreements with BMW and UPS, and built one of the industry’s largest humanoid manufacturing facilities.

Figure also confirmed that the final major design cycle for F.04 has now been completed. The platform is expected to become the company’s next production robot as it expands commercial deployments.

6. 1X Unveils New Hands for NEO

1X introduced a new generation of tendon driven hands for NEO.

The redesigned hands feature tendon driven actuation that more closely replicates the structure of the human hand. The architecture improves compliance, dexterity and force control while reducing the number of exposed mechanical components.

The announcement comes as 1X continues preparing for larger scale production, with the company targeting up to 10,000 robots this year across its NEO platform.

7. FieldAI Surpasses $100 Million

FieldAI announced more than $100 million in revenue and customer commitments, with deployments across more than 30 enterprise customers.

Founded by former researchers from Google, DeepMind, NVIDIA and NASA, the company develops foundation models that enable autonomous machines to operate in complex, unstructured environments. Its software is already being used across construction, mining, energy and critical infrastructure.

Unlike robotics companies developing their own hardware, FieldAI supplies the intelligence layer that allows existing machines to perceive, navigate and complete work autonomously.

8. Holiday Robotics Raises $105 Million

Holiday Robotics raised $105 million to accelerate development of its FRIDAY humanoid platform. The round is one of the largest announced by a Korean humanoid robotics company.

Founded in 2024, the company is developing a wheeled humanoid designed for manufacturing and logistics. FRIDAY combines autonomous manipulation with Holiday’s Vision Language Skill model to perform industrial tasks in structured environments.

The funding will support manufacturing, product development and commercial deployment as the company prepares to scale its platform.

9. XMAQUINA Continues Portfolio Execution

XMAQUINA’s governance process continued advancing throughout July.

Proposal BOT 13 passed with more than 99 percent approval, authorising the DAO’s allocation into Gecko Robotics. Gecko develops AI powered robotic inspection systems used by industrial companies to monitor critical infrastructure across energy, manufacturing and defence.

Execution is now underway through the DAO’s Execution Engine, expanding the portfolio’s exposure across the robotics value chain.
